Grub Insecticide Treatment
Effective control of white grubs requires knowledge of the life cycle of the species or group involved. Let Champion Green take care of these pests for you, just another way we make taking care of your lawn easy. While adult beetles may be pests in their own right, it is the grubs that damage turfgrasses. Most grubs feed primarily or exclusively on grass roots, cutting the plants off from water and nutrients. Typical symptoms of white grub damage include yellowing or browning of the leaves, signs of drought stress even when moisture conditions are good, and turf that is loose enough to pull easily from the soil. With heavy infestations, the ground becomes spongy to the step. **Additional damage occurs when predators like moles, birds, skunks, raccoons, or armadillos root up the turf while hunting for the grubs. **
Grubs (Scarabaeidae larvae) are controlled with a one-time insecticide application in the spring. If left untreated grubs and their respective predators can permanently damage your lawn! This treatment consists of a lawn insecticide for foliar and systemic control of the following pests of turf grasses:
Turf Caterpillar (including Armyworm, Cutworm and Sod Webworm) White Grubs (including Aphodius, Asiatic Garden Beetle, Black Turfgrass Ataenius, European Chafer, Green June beetle, Japanese Beetle, May/June beetles, Northern Masked Chafer, Oriental Beetle, and Southern Masked Chafer) also European Crane Fly, Billbugs, Chinch bugs (suppression only)
Watering the lawn after application of these products greatly helps the effectiveness of the treatment.
